PM launches UNSW research centre in Beijing
A UNSW research centre investigating three high-value industries was launched in Beijing this week by Prime Minister Julia Gillard, one of six Australia-China Joint Research Centres.
The UNSW-led centre will investigate long-term sustainability solutions for the minerals, metallurgy and materials industries in each country.
"The 3-M industries represent significant contributions to the economies of Australia and China," says Scientia Professor and Centre Director Aibing Yu from the School of Materials Science and Engineering at UNSW.
